Job Title: Assistant Principal - Holmes Elementary

Exemption Status/ Test: Exempt/ Executive

Reports to: Principal

Salary: $66,035

Annual Work Calendar Days: 207 Days (Start for next year) 

 

Primary Purpose:

Assist the campus Principal in the overall administration of the instructional program and campus operations. Coordinate assigned student activities and services.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Master’s degree in educational administration

Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate

Certified Texas Teacher Support and Evaluation System (T-TESS) appraiser

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Thorough understanding of school administrative operations
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with a specified behavior management system
Ability to communicate effectively orally as well as written expression
Ability to learn and utilize specialized therapeutic restraint techniques to control student behavior, when appropriate
General knowledge of computer systems and software applications
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

 

Experience:

Three years teaching experience
Experience working with students with special needs and students in at-risk situation

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Instructional Management

  1. Participate in the development and evaluation of educational programs.
  2. Provide appropriate time, resources, and materials to support staff in accomplishing educational goals.
  3. Assist Principal in developing, maintaining, and using appropriate information systems and records necessary to measure campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators.
  4. Facilitate the implementation and use of technology in the teaching/learning process.
  5. Process changes and adjustments in student schedules.
