Job Title: Self Contained Behavior Instructional Aide
Exemption Status/ Test: Non-exempt
Reports to: Principal and Teacher(s) Assigned

Minimum Salary: $13.69/ hour
Annual Work Calendar Days: 187 Days
Primary Purpose:
Assist teachers/ campus with behavior and instructional support. Assist teachers in the preparation and management of classroom including diffusing disruptive student behavior to refocus and transition students into classroom activities.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Associate’s degree, two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or have met formal academic assessment as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
Valid Texas educational aide certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to assist in behavior management and intervention
Ability to work well with children and quickly respond to behavioral issues
Ability to communicate effectively
Experience:
Two years experience working with children who exibit behavior problems
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Student Management
- Assist in the immediate intervention and management of student behavior.
- Diffuse disruptive behaviors, refocus and transition the student into classroom activities
- Provide quick response support to teachers and campuses with distruptive, behaviorally challenged students
- Comply with all distric policies and procedures
- Maintain a positive and effecive relationship with all district and campus staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Keep up-to-date administrative records and prepare required behavior and/or instructional related reports
- Keep teacher and administration informed of special needs or behavioral problems of individual students
- Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance
- Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned
